	FULGENCIO LAZO Fulgencio Lazo was born in the Zapotec Indian region of Oaxaca in 1967. He uses his art as an expression of his Zapotec culture. He studied with Shinzaburo Takeda at the School of Fine Art at Benito Juarez Autonomous University in Oaxaca, 1985-90, and at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, 1990-93.
He maintains studios in both Oaxaca and Seattle where he has won numerous awards. He has exhibited in one-man shows in the United States and Mexico since 1990. His work has appeared in collective exhibitions in Mexico, Japan, the United States since 1985.
