Filemon Santiago was born in San Jose Sosola, Oaxaca in 1958.  He works slowly and his work comes from great depths of love and pain.  He is another artist featured in Pisando en el Cielo, Pintores de Oaxaca.  His painstakingly produced oils -- currently he is working on large canvases -- are in great demand and command high prices from corporate and individual collectors in the United States and Europe.   His vita does not  refer to study.  He began exhibiting in 1973, and has a long list of collective and one man exhibitions.  We have prints from the early 90s in our collection.
