FULGENCIO LAZO Fulgencio Lazo was born in the Zapotec Indian region of Oaxaca in 1967. He uses his art as an expression of his Zapotec culture. He studied with Shinzaburo Takeda at the School of Fine Art at Benito Juarez Autonomous University in Oaxaca, 1985-90, and at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, 1990-93.

He maintains studios in both Oaxaca and Seattle where he has won numerous awards. His has exhibited in one-man shows in the United States and Mexico since 1990. His work appeared in collective exhibitions in Mexico, Japan, the United States since 1985. Fulgencio Lazo nacio en 1967 en Zapotec, region indigena de Oaxaca. Su arte es un reflejo de su cultura Zapoteca. Estudio con Shinzaburo Takeda en la Escuela de Artes de la Universidad Autonoma Benito Juarez en Oaxaca desde 1985 hasta 1990 y luego hasta 1993 en el Cornish College of the Arts en Seattle. Individualmente ha exhibido desde 1990 en los Estados Unidos. Su trabajo ha formado parte de exhibiciones colectivas en Mexico, Japon y los Estados Unidos desde 1985.
