DAMIAN AND BEATRIZ MORALES
Damian and Beatriz (Betty) Morales are both in their 20s and live and work in the village of Arrazola where they were born, along with their daughter Jennifer, who was born in 1995.  Damian was trained as a shoe maker and left Arrazola to make his living.

Damian Morales Beatriz Morales However, he was already in love with Betty whom he missed very much.  So he returned to Arrazola to marry her.  In order to make a living he took up carving copal wooden figures -- this was a new cottage industry in Arrazola and some of his neighbors were doing well with this. Betty started to paint his figures.  They turned out to be a uniquely talented pair producing  antelopes, horses, dogs, birds and other animals from both life and fantasy.

Damian era zapatero y dejo Arrazola buscando nuevos horizontes. No mucho despues, regreso para casarse con Betty. Como medio de sustento al igual que muchos de sus vecinos, tallaba figurillas en madera de copal y las llevaba a Oaxaca a vender. Betty comenzo a pintar las estatuillas de Damian. Pronto se destacaron como una pareja excepcionalmente talentosa que produce bellas figuras de animales tanto de la vida real como imaginarios.
